Quite a few years ago I had a guy working for me as a salesman and he had a rather peculiar outlook on life.

Nick, (As I will call him) was never satisfied with his performance unless he was the top guy for the month.

Always had to be #1.

This, by itself was a very good quality, and by God didn’t he usually get the #1 spot 3 months out of 4.

But, there was something about Nick that made him damaged goods and eventually got him fired in spite of being the top salesman.

Ya see, Nick’s ego was so big that not only did he want to be the best...... he also wanted everyone else to do poorly so that he could feel superior to the rest of the guys.

(There is a German word for this condition and it is “Schadenfreude” or “taking pleasure at others misfortune!”)

Nick had this in droves and it eventually led to his downfall.

The reason I bring this up is because I want to talk about Rush Limbaugh and I believe he is about to self-destruct in just the same way Nick did.

You see, Rush is a staunch right wing conservative Republican who has no use for the Liberal left, nor the Democrats, and he has made no bones about this on his nationally syndicated radio program.

This is all well and good, but since Obama got himself elected as President good ol’ Rush has been beside himself with disappointment, rage, consternation and apoplectic indignation.

That’s right kids, “apoplectic indignation,” since Rush couldn’t do the honorable thing and wish President Obama well, but rather had to show his displeasure by stating that he hoped the President would “FAIL” at his job in the White House.

Rush Limbaugh, that pompous, rotund self proclaimed grand master and bag of wind of the E.I.B. (Excellence in Broadcasting) Network has assumed a new moniker as the E.I.B. (”Especially Irritating Bastard”) of the airways.

This sort of juvenile outburst does not look good for a national radio show host and just like Nick, might have some serious consequences for our hapless hero.

At least I hope so!
